When her breathing finally returns to normal, I roll her off me and stare down at her sweet face. She’s perfect for me in every fucking way, and I can’t believe she’s going to marry me. Even if it’s just to get her sister back, she’ll still be mine. I’d prefer she be in love with me, but at least she’s comfortable and feels safe around me. And she gets very turned on by me, too. I have only one hope. That she doesn’t start to hate me once she understands the kind of monster I am. I’ll do my best to hide my darkness from her, but I won’t be able to shield her completely.

“We should go down. I need to put things in motion and warn the other syndicates.”

I’d rather stay in bed with her for the rest of the night. I could have Grace bring us dinner so I could feed her without even having to leave the room. I hate that we can’t hide in this bubble together. Maybe we’re not a real couple, but for the moment, it feels that way, and I don’t want it to stop. I’ve never felt as connected to anyone in my life as I feel with her.

“Okay, I just need to get dressed,” she says as she starts to rise from the bed.

I grab her wrist and pull her back down. “Nope. You don’t need to do anything besides lie there and let Daddy take care of you.”

Her eyes widen. “I can dress myself, Declan.”

My girl is going to quickly learn that her obedience is non-negotiable. I move to the edge of the bed and pull her up with me. Before she can move to stand, I wrap my arm around her waist and bring her face down over my lap, making her squeal and kick her feet.

“Declan!”

My palm lands on her ass with a hard, sharp smack. “My name is Daddy. I’ve told you and reminded you multiple times, so this time, the reminder will hurt.”

I smack her ass again, this time the other cheek. I love watching her soft flesh bounce back when I lift my hand. Her round bottom is the perfect fit under my palm, and I have no doubt I’ll enjoy spanking my girl often. I’ve been very lenient with her the past couple of days, but she’ll learn quickly that my lenience only goes so far before she’ll find herself in this position.

“I’m sorry! I’m not used to calling you Daddy.”

She gets another two swats from me and kicks her feet in response. It’s adorable. She’s my little fighter. I love it.

“I know you’re not used to it. That’s why this spanking will only be a light one.”

Cali huffs. “I don’t think this is considered light.”

I smile at her sassiness. I’m glad she can’t see my face because I don’t want her to see my amusement.
